Device Disinfection Protocol
To minimize the risks associated with secondary transmission of illness or infection, it is important to use disinfectant to clean the machine after each client.
- If the DCAT unit is not turned off, please use the Windows Shutdown option to power the unit down.
- DO NOT power down the unit by using the power switch or pulling the power plug from the wall.
- Once the DCAT unit has been safely shutdown from Windows, unplug the power cable from the wall. Depress the power switch on the DCAT unit to discharge any remaining power from the system.
- Use only a soft, lint-free cloth.
- Avoid abrasive cloths, towels, paper towels, or similar items.
- Place 70% or %75 medicinal/disinfection alcohol on the cleaning cloth.
- Don't use aerosol sprays, bleaches, or abrasives.
- If your alcohol is in a spray bottle, do not spray it directly on the DCAT unit; spray the cleaning cloth instead.
- Avoid excessive wiping, which might cause damage.
- Gently wipe the front of the DCAT unit’s screen, the buttons on the unit’s stand, and any remaining surfaces on the stand that can be touched by the person taking the assessment.
